WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS.........

Well there are gigs..............and then there are GIGS!!! It was a case of smiles all round for us, and the night just got better as it went along. It was a big enough thrill just to know we were supporting The Flood, so anything more than that is just a bonus. Well if we werent supporting them we would have been at their show anyway! So it's like getting in for free to something we would have been more than happy to pay for.

We had asked KB if he'd join us on stage for a rollicking rendition of 'Long Time Gone', a Crosby, Stills & Nash classic. His response "would love to guys, it's one of my faves". We saved it till the last song of our set, and jamed it right out, Kev and Gav dueling lead guitars flailing everywhere. Kev took the 3rd verse in very typical KB style, not holding back from the get go. It brought the house down! It was just a seriously amazing moment, one of those moments that reminds you why you love music so much, why you go to see live bands and why you wanted to do this in the first place. Thanks Kev!

The Flood then took the stage for a fantastic set of new songs and a mixture of their old classics. Everything from 'Brickyard Blues', '2003', 'Queensland' and 'Cant work no longer'. These guys are just the master of their craft and are an absolute pleasure to see. But there was one more surprise (well at least for me!!!), KB asked me back on stage to play guitar for a song that I'd never heard them do before. Actually I still dont know what the song is called! I thought I was hearing things 'Mitch grab your guitar and get up here'. As if I was going to say no - I was up there in a flash!!! Secretly I was hoping for a bit of 'Zevon' but it wasnt to be!!! I even gave a little teaser - Tim just looked at me and gave me a smile as if to say 'dont press your luck buddy!!' What a blast. My face hurt from smiling too much.

Thanks to the mighty support we got from our local fans. There was a stack of new and old faces in the crowd, and we really hope you all had a great night! If you are reading this before October 2008 - then make sure you get down to the Hallam hotel - we really need you all there for that one, it will be another great night no doubt about it!
