RETURN TO WHITTLESEA

Whittlesea

For anyone who has been under a rock - parts of Whittlesea were destroyed in the recent 'Black Saturday' fires. The Sunday of the annual Whittlesea Country music festival was cancelled due to the fires and the site that was to be for the concert became a 'base camp' for the homeless and emergency services. And so a 'Return to Whittlesea' concert was organised to help raise much needed money for the people who lost everything in the fires.

The Distance were asked to play a slot at the return to Whittlesea Benefit concert. It was a great day and the support for the cause was shown by the fantastic amount of people that were there from the start of the day. We have to thank that lovely lady in the kitchen of the 'green room' for feeding our very hungry keyboard player. I told her 'if you keep putting food on that table he'll eat it'. She just kept throwing it out there and Rob just kept eating it!

Gav is still amazed that the contents of a 'chicken sandwich' and an 'egg sandwich' both come from the same animal. Imagine what would have happened if he picked up a 'beef' and a 'cheese' sandwich!!! (yes Gav these are also from he same animal). Man I love hangin it on everyone in these Blogs! Look if you want to write your own review or BLOG or whatever you want to call it then please send it in - I'll be more than happy to post it. But until then I'm just going to spew out what ever comes into my head.

Col

Hey that's not Daz on the drums???? Yes he did it again....Once again we had to call on the multi talented Col Leadbetter to fill a spot in the band. This time on drums! Like he said to us 'I've probably listened to these songs more that you guys'. And after recording both our albums I have no doubt he has. Thanks Col - we really appreciate it. Oh and you left your iphone charger in my car.
