The Distance are among the finalists at the TIARA's and also at the Victorian and National Country Music awards. Nominated for 'best group' at both the TIARA's and the National awards. In the Victorian awards the band has been nominated for 'best group/duo' for 'Country life' with James Reyne, and best male vocal for Gav's throat work on 'Little Cowgirl'. Before I go - Thanks for all the support in 2008, we definately had a year to remember - the band wishes you all a merry christmas and we'll see you all in the New Year!

A DAY ON DAZZA'S GREEN.....

The band organised it's own little fundraiser to help with our 2009 Tamworth trip - it was dubbed the inuagural 'Day on Dazza's green' . They came in droves, eskies in hand, to sit in the sun and enjoy an afternoon of country rock. Read more in the BLOG section. The band was absolutely 'floored' by the generosity and support on the day......... |

5 OUT OF 9 AIN'T BAD......
Update 19/10/08
5 shows in 9 days and it ended with a bang. The 5th show came from nowhere, literally. We got the call to fill in at the Mornington Food and Wine festival and showed the local's what good ol country rock is all about! The Gav-a-tron was in full swing and people we throwing money at us to get on board for the ride! (I should be in marketing). Thanks to all who bought Cd's and sang and danced the day away with us. OCTOBER GIG FEST....
Update 9/10/08
Last weekend we rocked the Deni Ute Muster like never before - you can't NOT have fun at that thing! See Blog section for a run down. This weekend we play 'Shedfest' at the Lillydale Estate Winery. Then it's the Hallam hotel on Wednesday 15th - Come one and all, it will be a rocking night! Then if you are still hanging in there we are playing a 50 year anniversary of the Crib Point RSL and then it's onto the Mornington Street Festival on the Sunday for a 1pm show!! Now if we dont see you at one of these there's gotta be something wrong. Check gig guide for dates and times.

HALLAM HOTEL 15TH OCT.........

Sick of wasting life on the couch? - well we have a remedy for you! The Distance are taking their country rock swagger to the Hallam Hotel this coming October for a show that should not be missed. We are calling upon all the faithful, the music lovers, those looking for love, those who like a beer, and basically all the people who want to avoid another night of Australian idol on the couch. Its a full dinner and show affair - so get your tickets now! Show time is 8:30pm.

WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS............

The Distance recently supported The Flood at our local haunt the Peninsula Lounge for what was one very special night of music. And if supporting the Flood wasnt cool enough - we were treated to a special appearance from KB on stage with us to play the classic CS&N song 'Long Time Gone' at the end of our set!
